Broodmares
Our Broodmares
At our ranch we have a small but select band of broodmares. All mares are registered Quarter Horses with performance backgrounds. Along with good bloodlines; type, confirmation and character are all qualities we take into consideration.
The aim of our breeding program is to produce strong, well-balanced, intelligent horses with a trainable mind, outstanding movement and temperament. They have to be enjoyed by their new owners, whether it be in the show ring, for pleasure riding or work.
Our mares play a key role in accomplishing this goal. Thats why they get the best possible attention available.
Billy
Bingos Miss Billygoat Q-31433
Bingos Miss Billygoat's sire Butterscotch Bingo was bred by Winderadeen Corporation out of the imported stallion Beggar Bingo and the imported mare Gay Minnie. The AQHA Champion stallion, Beggar Bingo, an own son of Leo Bingo was the first stallion to come and start the Winderadeen Quarter Horse Stud. Beggar Bingo was introduced to the AQHA Hall of fame in 1998. Butterscotch Bingo is a full brother to Bingos Melody, who won the Sires Classic Futurity and has Roms in many events.
Billy's dam was bred by Robert Baldwin from Euroka Quarter Horse Stud. Euroka Miss Echo II was a brilliant cutting mare who won many events.
Billy had a cremello colt by Rocs Fabulous Texan.
Fantasy
Winderadeen Freckles Fantasy Q-41067
We are very glad we had the opportunity to buy Winderadeen Freckles Fantasy at the dispersal sale of Winderadeen Corporation.
Fantasy's breeding is impeccable, with a grand sire like Colonels Freckles (AQHA Hall of Fame) she is in company of his other offspring Nu Cash and Colonel Gunsmoke (Gunner). Her other grand sire Little Peppy Doc was a full brother in blood to Gray Starlight and Gallo Del Ciello (Rooster). Lots of great reiners and cutters in her family.
Fantasy is a nice tall and roomy mare. We are looking forward to her foals.
Fantasy had a chestnut colt by Readies Lil Whizzel.
Missy
Miss Spinners Oak Q-43133
Miss Spinners Oak's sire is the well known stallion Spin on Command, who has ROM's in cutting and performance and is a NCHA Champion and Sire of several National Champions. Spin on command is by the AQHA and NCHA Hall of Fame sire Doc's Spinifex. If you love quarter horses and cutting, he doesn't need any introduction. Spin on Command's dam is Commander's Merit who also has a ROM in halter, cutting and performance, is a superior cutting horse and is a great mare in her own right.
And that is just her sire side. Miss Spinners Oak's dam is a daughter of another great AQHA and NCHA Hall of Fame sire, the immortal Docs Freckles Oak, sire of champions in all disciplines..
Missy had a chestnut filly by Readies Lil Whizzel.
Trixie
OP Dunit with me Q-57104
We bought OP Dunit with me (Trixie) from Opal Park stud in Victoria. Trixie is trained by Ian Waldron. She competed at the reining Futurities in Victoria in 2007. In the Open Class she came sixth.
She won the Open Balmoral Buckle Series with Erwin in 2011.
Trixie has some great reining bloodlines with her Grandsire being Hollywood Dun It, NRHA Hall of Fame Inductee and All Time Leading Sire with offspring with over 5 million dollar in earnings.
Trixie is in foal to Readies Lil Whizzel for October 2012.
Zippo
Peps Gem Zippo Q-58478
This mare is imported from The Netherlands (Am 3693585). She came to Australia with us when we emigrated here in 2003. As a yearling and as a three year old she was Highpoint Halter Horse in Holland. She has been successfully shown in Halter, Showmanship at Halter, Pleasure, Horsemanship, Trail and Reining.
Zippo is a very kind natured mare. She patiently teaches children to ride, but can also be very competitive. Her bloodlines include the all time leading sire of reining horses, Solanos Peppy San (who is by the three times world champion NCHA cutting, Peppy San Badger), the world champion senior cutting, Personality Doc and the leading grandsire of pleasure horses, Zippo Pine Bar.
Zippo will this year be used as a school horse for beginners.
Kelly
Yellowstone Kelly Dunit Q-60104
Kelly is the first mare we bred that is going to stay with us as a broodmare.
We imported her dam Peps Gem Zippo and crossed her with a Dun It Downunder stallion. This way we improved on her reining abilities.
Kelly is a very sweet mare, like her mum, no bad bone in her body. Her foals will make great recreational horses or go far in the showring. Just the type of horse most people are looking for; calm, smart and honest.
Kelly will be started under saddle this year.
