The ranch
The property is 92 acres of which about 35 acres are divided into paddocks. Old growth forest and up until recently a blue gum plantation cover the rest. The blue gums have been harvested and now we face the task of turning all this land into green rolling pastures. I can just about see the herd of mares and foals grazing happily on the hill.
Facilities for the horses include:
- Riding arena (25 by 45 metre)
- Round yard (15 metre diameter)
- Stables (in progress)
- Individual paddocks
- Big grazing paddocks
- Unlimited riding trails
- Float parking
Agistment
We don't have room for extra horses. Only horses in training will be agisted on the property. Your horse will have an individual paddock with a 5 strand plan wire electric fence. An extra white stand off wire gives good visibility.
All horses staying with us are fed twice daily. They get hard feed according to their requirements and hay if necessary. Fresh water is available in all paddocks.
It is your responsibility to maintain the condition of your horse’s health, hooves and teeth. Also make sure you worm and vaccinate your horse against tetanus and strangles regularly. We can let you know when we do our horses, so you can have yours done at the same time.
Before you can bring your horse to our ranch you will have to sign a horse agistment contract. We advise you to take out insurance on your horse while it is staying with us.
